Trustee, Secretary and Treasurer
Margaret Mitchell earned a BS from Cornell University prior to completing a course
at the Harvard School of Public Health, enabling her to be a public health nutritionist
for the state of Virginia.
She owned and ran a small business for a number of years
as well as serving 20 years as Secretary-Treasurer for Even Cut Abrasive, a $5,000,000
manufacturing company.

Mitchell was elected to the South Euclid City Council in the 60’s
and the Shaker Heights School Board in the 70’s. In the 80’s, she was president of the
Cleveland Center for Economic Education as well as serving on Mayor Voinovich’s Task Force
(1980). She has worked with Hugh Calkins since the inception of IUE, researching many of
the projects on which he worked and acting as treasurer.
